Growth of Slot Games

The history of slot can be classified into three apparent eras, in which each era marked an eternal track on the present online gambling world. They are mechanical era, electromechanical era, and computerized era.

Mechanical Era:

Fey’s machine is best evoked for his cast-iron liberty Bell slot. Fey’s slot machine was a mechanical model, and on that instead of the fruits, it show king, queen, and jack. He merged with the Mills Novelty Company and manufactured his first commercial slot game machine called the Mills Liberty Bell. Basically this machine was covered in a cast iron case and for making the appearance attractive, its cast iron feet and toes was later replaced with elaborate decorated feet. There is a bell within the machine which rings every time a player hit a winning arrangement. and this particular amenity has carry on the test of time. A simple slot machine consists of three reels and ten symbols are there on each of the three reels. When the player get three of the same symbols of the pay line then the bingo online player hit the jack pot. The main thing is the chances of jack pot hitting were measured at one in one-thousand. Fey’s device conquered the mechanical era and the three-reel slot machine was well-established the gambling awareness. The slots industry began in his basement makes the attainment of his control of this industry and more worthy.

‘Operator Bell’ was the other slot machine launched by Mills Novelty Company.    This machine varied slightly with the former one in having gooseneck entry and figuring the prominent fruit symbols. The cast iron machines gave way to the less expensive wood cabinet in 1915. The Novelty Company made many other changes in the end of 1929s, to its line of slot machines, which further modernized the industry. Another invention was “silent bell”. A double jackpot was also introduced by the company under the guidance of which player could win twice in quick series. They also introduced a series of colorful and outstanding cabinet designs like the Lion Head, Roman Head, War Eagle, etc which make more impressive and attractive for the players.

Electromechanical era:

The world had mechanically modified to the era of electromechanical era in 1950’s which had been the dull era for the slot machine. The major developments of the era were the issue of the slot machine known as Big Bertha, which was followed by the even better Super Big Bertha. The machines were very expensive and rate something like $150,000. The machine was power-driven by a 5 HP motor, and consisted of 8 reels, with 20 symbols per reel. As only 80% was paid back to the players with the odds of hitting the jackpot being only 1 in 25.6 billion, players had no more benefits from these machines.

Computerized era:

Slots also have the influence of technology development and thus online slots came into being.  This era gave a new aspect to the slot machines and they became highly computerized where they not rely on preprogrammed random number creator that generates the numbers that match to patterns of symbols on the reels. This era stopped the use of coins.  Most of the machines today use video stimulated reels. So with the advent of online slots many players change their destination from brick and mortar casinos to online casinos to experience the amazing online gambling.
